The main airport is Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas International (MAD). MAD has direct flights from many European cities and from major international cities. You can find more information in the airport webpage.

IMPORTANT: Check the information on the health documents and requirements for entry to Spain.

The official currency is Euro. If you need change or cash, you can find cash machines operated by different banks in the arrivals lobby of every terminal.

Getting to and from the airport

You can use taxi, metro, train, bus, car and vehicles for hire to go to/from the airport from/to the city center. Follow the previous links to get official information.

The most convenient way to arrive to your hotel is Public Transport. You can use the Underground (Metro) line 8, which runs from all the terminals to Nuevos Ministerios Station (Estimated travel time: 12-15 minutes), where you can connect with local trains and lines 6 and 10 of metro.

Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. Fare to downtown Madrid is 30€ on trips with origin or destination between the Airport and Calle 30, including those that have been contracted by telematic means.

By Train

Atocha is the main train station in Madrid. It can be reached from the main cities in Spain by high speed velocity train (AVE). The high velocity train tickets usually includes a ride in the local train (“Cercanías”) that you can use to get near your hotel.
